द दून स्कूल के स्टूडेंट्स लैंसडौन पहुंचे, पौधे रोपे और कूड़ा करकट उठाया

लैंसडौन। महात्मा गांधी-शास्त्री जयंती पर प्रसिद्ध द दून स्कूल के स्टूडेंट्स ने लैंसडौन के आस पास वृक्षारोपण किया । और चिनबो वाटरफॉल्स के आसपास फैला कूड़ा करकट इकठ्ठा किया। द दून स्कूल के ग्रेड 8 व 9 के छात्रों ने पालकोट स्थित घुघुती रिसॉर्ट के आस पास ग्रीनरी अभियान में हिस्सा लिया।

स्टूडेंट्स ने बताया कि बढ़ते ग्लोबल वार्मिंग, लैंड स्लाइड व अवैध कटान के खतरे को देखते हुए अधिक से अधिक वृक्षरोपण करना होगा। लैंसडौन के आसपास की हरियाली व इकोलॉजिकल डायवर्सिटी से रोमांचित स्टूडेंट्स ने पर्यावरण व प्रकृति के संरक्षण में अपना योगदान दे स्टडी टूर को सफल बनाया।

इसके अलावा लैंसडौन के पास चिनबो वाटरफॉल के आसपास सफाई अभियान भी चलाया। यहां बिखरे कूड़े को साफ किया । घुघुती रिसॉर्ट के मैनेजर नितिन नेगी ने इस अभियान में हिस्सा लिया।

स्टडी टूर में द दून स्कूल के टीचर आनन्द मध्याह्न, मौली गोस्वामी ने टीम को लीड किया। प्लांटेशन ड्राइव में सुप्रतिम बसु,परविंदर कुमार, ज्ञानेश्वरम, इमदाद अली ने हिस्सा लिया।

Students from The Doon School, Dehradun initiated and participated in a plantation drive over the course of their mid-term expedition. Taking inspiration from their school theme of sustainability, the students from grade 8 and grade 9 decided to plant some saplings in the Ghughuti resort. To combat the rising menace of deforestation, soil erosion, and global warming, the students took charge of taking the first few steps towards leading a more ‘green’ life.

The students were immensely appreciative of the greenery and ecological diversity of Lansdowne and were inspired to organize a drive. This plantation drive not only began an important conversation about nature preservation and human acts but brought the students together in a memorable manner. Some students were thrilled at the thought of revisiting the resort years later to see the thriving plant/tree while some were just happy to see their saplings in their new home. In the end, they collectively pledged to do their bit to preserve and nurture the environment and become responsible citizens of the country.

The students were accompanied by their teachers Mr Anand Mandhian, Ms Moulee Goswami, Mr Supratim Basu, Mr Parvinder Kumar, Mr Gyaneshwaran, and Mr Istemdad Ali. They were also supported by the Resort Manager, Mr Nitin Negi.
